What is a pawn agreement
The pawn is a bailment of movable property as security for a debt. If the debtor does not return the amount paid, the pawnbroker will keep the collateral, which they can subsequently sell if they so wish to recover the loan amount.
Pawning requires an agreement between the two parties. The customer who is in urgent need of cash, brings the items they wish to pawn (e.g. gold jewellery, watches, etc.) to the pawn shop and the appraisers come up with an offer for the specific items. If an agreement is reached, a contract is signed and the customer grants possession of the item to the creditor.
